Open Threads ►

Welcome to It's Not Rocket Science!

Both canon and original characters are welcomed unless Murphy does not like you! We are a no word count just try to spell better than Murphy, freestyle shipper, application, semi-au roleplay set in the fictional universe of The 100 were the awesomeness of murphamy totally exists. Inspired by the CW television series and Kass Morgan books. Our site has been around since June 2015!We have yet to get floated!

The site is a liquid timeline, meaning you can do threads wherever you want within the sites timeline Especially Murphamy ones. Only thing we ask is that you try not to go ahead of the latest events in the site plot, which is to the end of Season 3 currently. You can play out scenes from the show, or you can go off and do your own thing. You have the freedom to do as you please. As Bellamy Blake puts it: "Whatever the hell we want!"

The question is...
How far will you go to survive or protect the ones you care about?

Sky People
Leaving Earth during the apocalypse, these people have spent the past 4 generations in space. When oxygen systems were beginning to fail they made the tough decision of sending juvenile delinquents down to Earth to find out if it was habitable again. About a month later the rest of their people joined them.

On site, they are separated into 2 groups:
Delinquents and Arkers.

Mountain Men
During the apocalypse survivors managed to escape the nuclear radiation by hiding in an underground governmental facility. Only problem was their bodies never adapted to survive the higher radiation levels. Eventually they were able to synthesise a permanent solution using the bone marrow from Sky People.

On site, they are separated into 2 groups:
Mountain Men and Mountain Women.

Grounders
Survival of the fittest, generations of people which had survived the apocalypse without any means of escaping it. Some of their offspring are still born with mutations, which either alleviate their status within their clan or completely remove it.

On site, they are separated into 5 groups:
Trikru, Azgeda, Floukru, Sankru and Nomad.

Sky People - Delinquents

The Delinquents, also known as "The 100," "The Invaders," and "The Sky People" are a group of 100 teenagers younger than 18, arrested for committing various crimes. As all crimes in The Ark are capital crimes, criminals are executed immediately. Those under the age of 18, however, are instead sent to lock-up until they reach the age of 18 when they will be given a trial and, if found guilty, are floated. One hundred of these delinquents were sent to Earth to see if it was habitable enough for humans to survive and were promised that their crimes would be pardoned.

The crimes commited to be sent down are varied, some had been minor like thieves whilst others were more serious like wasting Arks oxygen supply and murder. It seemed the Ark did not do any kind of screening and more of a random selection for those to be on the dropship.

While Bellamy Blake and Raven Reyes are among the group of Delinquents, they are not actual delinquents and were not sent to Earth by The Council. Bellamy sneaked aboard the dropship after shooting Chancellor Jaha while Raven built her own escape pod and came down eleven days later.

Each delinquent was fitted with a metallic band on their wrist which sends their vitals back up to the Ark. Bellamy created a movement within camp to attempt to get the bracelets removed. Some delinquents complied, others have refused.

Some of them died upon impact during the dropship crashing into Earth. The rest are now tasked with establishing a camp and getting to their target Mount Weather. The Ark has supplied them with around a month's worth of food and some medicine and other basic supplies. They all have sleeping bags and there’s some tents but not enough for every single delinquent, so many are bunking up together. There were no weapons provided so needed to be hand crafted. Bellamy had brought one gun with him onto the dropship after shooting the Ark chancellor to get on. It has very low ammo.

Soon after landing Bellamy started to take on the leadership role while Clarke opposed of it, leading them both to co-lead together. Bellamy has a small group within the camp he calls his Militia, they help him keep camp organized and are managed by Bellamy’s lieutenant Nathan Miller.

Communications have been damaged upon impact, parts to the outer shell of the dropship ripped off during the fall. Its up to the delinquents to get communications with the Ark back up and try to bring some reinforcements and help down.

Due to the history of The 100 and the Ark, they are limited on siblings. Population control created laws which made it illegal for anyone to have more than one child. This includes full blood, half, step, adopted and illegal siblings. We allow a maximum of FIVE (5) pairs of siblings for both groups at any time on the site. Check the siblings claim.

Sky People - Arkers

Gov-Sci Station
Higher Class residents live here.
The Government & Science Station (Gov-Sci for short) is the large primary ring of the Ark. Gov-Sci—and the Ark’s other ring stations—rotate to create artificial gravity using centripetal force. Gov-Sci is the location of the key command and operations sections of the Ark. The main areas to this station are Earth Monitoring and Medical.

Agro Station
Higher Class residents live here.
Agro Station (aka farm station) was the Ark’s agricultural facility. It grew soy used as food by the inhabitants, and was also known for moonshine. Residents live and work here, producing nutrient pastes to feed the masses as well as solar fields growing artificial fresh foods. They are also the main provider of all medicinal herbs and plants which are artificially grown. Many of the Arks farmers and botanists live here.

Food is very basic. No meat or animals (those that managed to get onto the Ark during launch from earth died out early on). Basic food is nutrient paste, which gives all the vitals a resident would need for a single meal. It is the main source of food for the lower class residents. Higher class can afford to buy more luxuries such as artificial fruit/vegetables manufactured in agriculture.

Power Station
Middle Class residents live here.
Power station generated the majority of the electrical power used on the Ark. It’s restricted to most of the other stations residents without the correct authorization. Many of its residents either worked within the station as electricians, solar energy scientists and data analyzers. They worked closely with the mechanics and engineers from mecha station.

Mecha Station
Middle Class residents live here.
The ark’s mechanical facilities are located here. Unknown to most, one of the station’s maintenance bays housed a 130-year-old escape pod salvaged from mir-3 in 2102. The station’s hull has a brazilian flag painted on it, implying that much of Mecha Station was converted from the original Brazilian national station.

Hydro Station
Lower Class residents live here.
Hydra station is home to the massive sewage system which keeps the majority of the arks water supply clean and filtered. Other stations have similar systems at a much smaller scale but with overpopulation limits reached the larger system was put in place over forty years ago. Many residents have complained of the pungent smell which comes from the sedimentation tanks. This is one of the over-populated stations, meaning the rooms are cramped and difficult for younger residents to move out from parents and find any spare rooms.

Factory Station
Lower Class residents live here.
Factory Station, presumably manufactured items, needed by the Ark, from recycled materials and/or broken components. It has one of the highest employment rates compared to any other station since residents from other stations which couldn’t get jobs mostly work here too. There are a variety of labor jobs available for residents, from janitors to machine operators. this is one of the over-populated stations, meaning the rooms are cramped and difficult for younger residents to move out from parents and find any spare rooms. Conditions are perfect for the Black Market to thrive here.

The Ark was the orbital home that humans had survived on for 97 years, while Earth lay uninhabitable. The original survivors numbered over 400, spread across the space stations of 13 nations. Of those 13 stations one was lost to conflict before the remaining 12 joined forces. Those survivors combined the 12 remaining stations and thousands of satellites into The Ark, and their population grew to 2658, stretching life support to the breaking point

Due to the resource scarcity, all adult criminals were punished with death, and juvenile offenders were imprisoned until they turned 18, and were either freed or executed. Life-support on the Ark was failing, and even the best repair estimates had the work taking longer than the system could keep the population alive. As both a means of lessening the load on the system and testing the survivability of Earth, the Ark sent The 100 to Earth in a drop ship.

There is roughly four months of oxygen left from when the dropship of delinquents is launched. Jake Griffin, Clarkes father, was floated for trying to warn the Ark of the oxygen failure. They kept it a secret at all costs to try and not cause the Ark to go into a panic.

Due to the history of Ark Residents, they are limited on siblings. Population control created laws which made it illegal for anyone to have more than one child. This includes full blood, half, step, adopted and illegal siblings. We allow a maximum of FIVE (5) pairs of siblings for both groups at any time on the site. Check the siblings claim

Currency on the Ark is ‘Ration Points’, but most things can be exchanged as a currency too. Medicine, food, materials, supplies etc - Everything has a value. Residents earn ration points by working and they can also trade items off at the exchange. The exchange is a large market where all kinds of legal supplies and materials can be brought and sold. Kind of like a pawn shop or a legal black market. Things can also be done through the black market but if they are caught they are floated.

For each resident: Food is restricted to 2 portions per day, water is restricted to 2oz per day. Supplies are to be approved by Station lesser and are not to exceed Station maximum.

Mountain Men

Agriculture (Level 1 - 2)
Medium level access required.
The governmental fortress uses hydroelectric power taken from the operational Philpott Dam located next to Mount Weather. They collect fresh water from their own underground reservoir and fresh food from their hydroponic farm. They have strict protocols to ensure there are no radiation leaks getting into their home.

Medical (Level 3 - 4)
Medium-High access required.
Quarantine can be found here along with the medical ward and where residents will come to have blood transfusions to heal injuries. There's a separate high-levelled section which contains the Harvesting Chambers and the trash shoots leading to the mines.

Residential (Level 5 - 6)
Low level access required.
All residents live on these levels, it also contains schooling and recreational areas such as a library. It contains the mess hall which all residents eat and the dorms where they kept the one-hundred secured.

Federal (Level 7)
High level access required.
The presidents office is found here along with other administrative positions.
Radio control can be found here which is strictly monitored and only access to high-levelled officers. They control a large satellite dish on top of the mountain which has been used to block radio frequencies and has also been used to jam other signals. They can control the acid fog and missiles from here too. The Cerberus Project is also found here, grounders are processed and trained to become addicted to the drug they administer. They will return to the mountain through the mines below it with new grounders in order to receive more of the drug. Mountain men can control them using high pitched noises.

Mount Weather is extremely secure, please run any plans by admins for break ins and escapes before doing them.

Mountain Men, or Maunon (Trigedasleng) is a term used by the Sky People and the Grounders to describe a person who comes from Mount Weather. The Mountain Men alive today are descendants of humans who survived the nuclear apocalypse 97 years before the show, by living inside of Mount Weather. They cannot live outside the mountain or be exposed to outside air or items until they have been decontaminated due to radiation poisoning.

They are responsible for creating the savage Reapers as well as the Acid Fog that have both killed many. Because of this the Grounders have a negative view of Mountain Men. The Sky People have no knowledge of any of this, and once they are aware of Mountain Men they see them as cautious allies. Once delinquents finds out about this, and they no longer see them as their salvation.

There are 382 Mountain Men living inside of Mount Weather. Dante Wallace had been president of Mount Weather for a long time. His father was one before him, stating that Mount Weather obtains some sort of monarchy-based government. He mentions 56 years ago he went outside for 5 minutes at the age of 7. His father, who was the leader at the time, thought that the earth was survivable again. Within a week 54 people were dead from the exposure, among them, Dante's mother and sister. Some time in history, the mountain men decided to engage in several projects and tests, driven by mostly their survival instinct and to find a solution for possible radiation.

No contaminated outside items are allowed inside mount weather (Like watches for example), although some items have been brought in and contained by higher-ups like the president (Such as a flower in a jar). Their protocol on items brought in from the outside is very strict, prioritizing safety over sentimentality.

They have two armies, their guards which are able to leave Mount Weather in hazmat suits and the Reapers. They also control the Acid Fog as a way to deter grounders away from the mountain if they get too close. Finally they have a very limited amount of missiles which are to be used as a last resort.

The harvest is a project currently led by Dr. Tsing known throughout Mount Weather. Grounders are captured in 'the outside world' by Reapers. Their blood is drained and used to treat the effects of radiation among the mountain men because Grounders have a higher tolerance of radiation.

The Cerberus Project is a project led by Cage Wallace, that is unknown to the rest of Mount Weather, aside from a limited few. Cage will take grounders who are originally meant for the harvest. He will capture them and restrain them, before administering a drug that is most likely highly addictive. Through senor therapy the test subjects learn to associate high pitched noise with pain, this way Cage controls the test subjects. Eventually after several stages, the subject will become savage and will turn into a reaper.

There is a group of revolution-minded people that was led my Maya's Mom and now her that are against Grounders/Outsiders dying to treat radiation. The same group try to protect the delinquents when it is made known they intent to harvest them for bone marrow to stop the effects of radiation on Mountain Men.

Grounders

Trikru - The Woods Clan
The Woods Clan, or People of the Woods, are a group of Grounders that inhabit the expanse of Virginia's woodlands. Their borders also extend to the ruins of what once was Washington, DC as Lincoln's home was near the ruins of the Lincoln Memorial. In Remember Me, it is revealed that the village is named Ton DC, probably due to a damaged sign nearby that reads "(Washing)ton DC 10 Miles".

Azgeda - Ice Nation
The Ice Nation is a clan ruled by the Grounder known as the Ice Queen. This clan is currently allied with The Woods Clan but they were previously at war. They also kidnapped the girlfriend of Lexa, Costia, thinking she had information about the Commander. They tortured, killed and decapitated her. Lexa, however, still brought them into the Coalition to help fight Mount Weather and the Mountain Men.

Floukru - The Water Tribe
Luna's Clan, also called The Boat People or The Water Tribe, is a clan ruled by a Grounder named Luna. This clan is allied with The Woods Clan, and, according to Lincoln in I Am Become Death, they live "east to the sea, then across it."

Sankru - Desert Clan
Little else is known about this clan, although it does seem to be separate from the Nomadic Grounders in The Dead Zone.

Nomad - Clanless Grounders
Nomadic Grounders, also known as Wastelanders, are Grounders who have no clan because they or a family member may have been seen as a "stain on the bloodline" due to birth defects and cast out. So far, they seem to inhabit The Dead Zone with some of them on their way to The City of Light in search of safe haven.

They are called "Grounders" by the sky people, but mountain men know them as the "Savages" or the "Outsiders".

It was originally assumed that all Grounders were a part of the same Clan. However, there is more than one Clan. Since the Grounders don't use last names, their Clan name is used instead. Every village within a clan has a leader. Every clan also has a leader who follows the Commander.

Grounders have their own language which is a Creole English that has evolved over three generations. The Grounders' native language is Trigedasleng. Only the Warriors speak English, which makes them bilingual.

All twelve Grounder Clans are part of an alliance with each other called the Coalition. Lexa is the reason the twelve clans united and without her, the coalition would fail. Prior to that, the Ice Nation was the biggest threat to the alliance of the twelve clans.

The alliance was formed three to four years ago, before that all the clans were at war with one another. Since the alliance was formed there have been no major conflicts between clans.

Grounders believe in reincarnation to choose their new commander when one passes, which is how the current commander Lexa was chosen. If she were to pass, her spirit would go on to choose the next commander who is worthy. Assuming there would be a ritual involved in such a process.

Grounders are very big on rituals and tradition. The marks on their shoulders serve as a tally for their number of kills in battle. Each scar equals 1 kill. Gaining kill marks is a great honor and a highly prestigious act among The Woods Clan. Another ritual is “Death by a thousand cuts” where a grounder who has committed a crime will be tied to a post and each member of his clan will take it in turns cutting them in different places. They are burned at the post but most don’t survive the cuts.

Grounders fear both the Reapers and the Mountain Men. They avoid the mountain at all costs and do not know the acid fog is caused by Mountain Men, they just know the fog appears around the mountain. Reapers were once one of their own people which have been taken and turned into monsters. In the past they have attempted to cure Reapers but nothing they have tried worked, the illness burns through them before they can be saved.

Grounders won't pick up a gun, legend has it their people will supposedly be slaughtered if they do.

Grounders also believe if you kill someone, you gain their power. So if you were to kill the heda, you would become the heda.
